Women’s biological and genetic factors may influence how Alzheimer’s affects and progresses.  New findings and research initiatives have begun to examine why and how women may be more susceptible.

Since women are also more often the primary care givers for elderly family members, they can be affected indirectly by the rising occurrence of dementia.
